Job Summary:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a vital member of our care team, providing direct nursing care to our residents and supervising day-to-day nursing activities. This role requires a strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate nursing services to ensure residents receive comprehensive care.
  • Participate in facility surveys and inspections as required.
  • Review and update resident discharge plans as necessary.
  • Assist in planning nursing services for resident discharge plans.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as needed.
  • Complete injury/incident reports and medical forms as required.
  • Agree to maintain confidentiality and report suspected or known violations of resident protected health information.
  • Complete and file required record-keeping forms and charts.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a minimum of a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program.
  • Must have a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN/LVN in this state.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a psych facility or hospital setting.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the behavioral and nursing needs of the residents served.
  • Must be a supportive team member and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
  • Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary for providing quality care.
