Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for conducting precise radiographic examinations of the skeletal system in accordance with established protocols. This role involves overseeing the necessary activities to ensure safe and effective radiologic imaging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients and thoroughly explain procedures, setting a standard for exceptional patient care.
  • Deliver a professional and courteous service to create a positive first impression of the practice.
  • Prepare the x-ray room daily, ensuring all equipment is operational and ready for use.
  • Evaluate individual patient needs and adapt departmental procedures to ensure optimal imaging outcomes.
  • Conduct all routine and specialized x-ray procedures with minimal repeat images.
  • Determine and adjust exposure settings to achieve images with appropriate detail and accuracy.
  • Implement radiation safety measures to protect both patients and staff.
  • Prepare images for review by the ordering physician.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records in the electronic medical record system.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Assist with other departmental duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited two-year college or completion of a hospital-based program.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred, or completion of clinical rotations.
  • AART certification or LMRT certification is mandatory.
  • Must complete 24 continuing education credits every two years.
  • CPR certification is required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong customer service and patient care skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Approachable demeanor.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent lifting of over 20 lbs.
  • Ability to push and pull weights exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crawling, and climbing.
