Position Summary
VSolvit is seeking a motivated individual to join our innovative Business Development team as a Pricing Strategy Analyst. This role is pivotal in assisting with the formulation of pricing and cost models for proposal submissions. The Pricing Strategy Analyst will analyze competitor pricing alongside market trends to establish optimal target pricing for professional services in the information technology sector. This position involves working with intricate data to evaluate industry benchmarks and competitors' pricing strategies, aiding the organization in identifying and setting competitive pricing structures. The analyst will investigate consumer behavior to gauge willingness to pay for various services and identify trends in government spending.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, adeptly adjusting to shifting priorities while supporting capture managers, proposal managers, and executives. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously are essential. The candidate should also be capable of delivering measurable outcomes consistently and working independently in a remote setting.

Eligibility for a security clearance is required for this position. The successful candidate will be based at our Chesapeake, VA office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to conduct market assessments through financial and cost reviews for proposal staffing models, providing insights to enhance understanding of financial impacts.
  • Offer pricing support for specific proposals by conducting Competitor Analysis, Indirect Rate Analysis, and Price-to-Win assessments, as well as developing and refining pricing models.
  • Lead the generation and evaluation of pertinent information, presenting recommendations to senior management.
  • Formulate pricing strategies for proposal submissions in close collaboration with capture managers, proposal managers, and executives.
  • Maintain comprehensive pricing documentation, ensuring all supporting materials are up to date.
  • Conduct cost analysis and estimates for complex proposals, adhering to company policies and solicitation requirements.
  • Act as a key member of the capture/proposal team, contributing to the development of pricing strategies, risk identification, and interpretation of solicitation requirements.
  • Perform detailed analysis of labor category pricing and conduct Salary Survey research.
  • Stay informed about the competitive landscape and industry developments.
  • Review proposals prepared by other pricing analysts to ensure quality and accuracy.

Essential Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Mathematics, or English.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in research or analytical support.
  • At least 1 year of experience in corporate customer service and project management support.
  • 1 year of experience in marketing and grant research, or web-based research and analysis.
  • 1 year of experience navigating web portals, conducting queries, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for at least 1 year.
  • Experience with Google Suite (Slides, Docs, Sheets, and Gmail) for at least 1 year.
  • 1 year of experience monitoring and interpreting industry statistics and trade literature.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience assessing competitors' strengths, weaknesses, pricing, and unique offerings.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting competitive analysis and gathering intelligence.
  • 1+ years of writing experience related to software development, technical writing, or project management.
  • 1+ years of experience in proposal development related to software or enterprise technical solutions for the Federal market.
  • 1+ years of experience in capture, business development, or proposal development within the Federal sector.
  • 1+ years of demonstrated professional writing skills using established methods and tools.
