We are currently seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our team. As a Civil Design Engineer, you will work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in engineering analysis, design, field inspections, writing reports, preparing permit applications, site drainage & grading designs, and learning the Civil Engineering trade.
  • Perform basic calculations based on assignment, including hydraulic calculations, traffic projections, piling or rebar calculations, or calculations to balance site earthwork.
  • Assist in designing water and sewer systems for smaller private and larger municipal systems.
  • Assist with grading and stormwater designs for commercial, industrial, and residential site plans.
  • Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively.
  • Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects, assist in project planning and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Assist with documenting design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress.
  • Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
  • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in civil engineering.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required.
  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) License preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
