Kern Medical is seeking a skilled Vocational Nurse I/II to join our team in a Family Practice Clinic setting. As a Vocational Nurse, you will provide patient care under general supervision in a hospital, clinic, or correctional facility.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care as assigned, utilizing broad knowledge in techniques, methods, procedures, and equipment required in support of the registered nurse and medical staff.
- Perform general nursing care in various departments, including correctional nursing.
- Take and record temperature, pulse, and respiration, and observe and keep records of unusual conditions or behavior.
- Participate in the development of nursing care plans and maintain records reflecting patient's condition, medication, and treatment.
- Administer special diets and treatments as prescribed, and give medications if certified.
- Completion of a basic pre-service Vocational Nurse curriculum accredited by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician examiners.
- Possession of a current valid license as a Vocational Nurse as issued by the State of California, or possession of a temporary license or interim permit to practice as a Vocational Nurse.
- Ability to stand and walk for lengthy periods, and ability to lift and carry unassisted objects weighing up to 70 lbs.

- A new hire premium of +6% of base rate of pay matched up to 6% if contributed to Deferred Compensation Plan.
