Role Expectations for the Speech Language Pathologist

As a Speech Language Pathologist at Kinzua, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive speech evaluations and providing targeted therapy services to patients in your designated area. Your role will involve assessing the patient's living conditions and functional capabilities while actively contributing to the formulation of a holistic care plan.

  • Facilitate patient recovery by enhancing their speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing skills through effective therapy.
  • Regularly communicate patient progress and any concerns to supervisors and fellow team members; assist with scheduling and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Document all patient interactions in compliance with regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards.
  • Educate patients' families or nursing staff on follow-up care and therapy programs.
  • Ensure that all equipment and workspaces are maintained in a safe and hygienic condition.
  • Participate in presentations to support marketing initiatives and contribute to team meetings and training sessions.
  • Adhere to the company's Code of Conduct, compliance agreements, and relevant professional standards and laws.
  • Possess a master's degree from an accredited institution in speech-language pathology.
  • Hold a current state license for Speech Language Pathology and relevant credentials.
  • Have a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible for the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Maintain CPR certification.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in English.
  • Complete ongoing education requirements as mandated by state regulations or professional organizations.
