Job Summary

As a key member of our team at Excelsior Orthopaedics Group, the Imaging Technologist plays a vital role in conducting radiological diagnostic procedures to evaluate patient conditions. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Operate computer and radiographic equipment to produce high-quality radiographs of designated body parts, under the supervision of a Radiologist.
  • Perform quality control measures to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Prepare patients for radiographic procedures by assessing their needs and providing education.
  • Record accurate chart notations in the Patient Information System and maintain patient records and files as directed.
  • Store and maintain films according to department policy and procedures.
  • Prepare patient films for interpretation by radiologists.
  • Practice safety measures in radiography and maintain a safe environment.
  • Assist physicians with orthopedic casting procedures, including the application and removal of casts and splints.
  • Perform routine examinations and treatment procedures, including removing casts, cleaning wounds, and applying medications and dressings.
  • Cross-train in clinical areas to support patients and providers.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • AAS Radiologic Technology degree.
  • Current ARRT Certification and NYS License.
  • Minimum of two years of Radiologic Technologist experience.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Physical Demands

This role requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, grasping, carrying, and speaking. Occasional reaching, bending, and stooping are also required. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds with assistance may be necessary. May need to lift or turn patients who are disabled with assistance.
