About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate/Material Handler to join our Retail Team at The Salvation Army's Rancho Cucamonga Thrift Store. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and assisting with inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all customers and donors receive a genuine greeting and prompt assistance.
  • Stock and merchandise products on the sales floor.
  • Maintain the store and donation area, ensuring it remains clean, neat, and organized.
  • Follow all POS/Cash Register policies and procedures.
  • Maintain safety and compliance standards.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
  • Must pass a background check, including a criminal history and sex offender registry check.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with management, fellow employees, customers, and donors.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
Work Schedule

Our stores operate 7 days a week. Work schedules are determined by management and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Part-time associates may be scheduled to work any part-time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
