Job Summary

The Senior Mobility Underwriter will be responsible for producing, underwriting, and servicing primary and reinsurance commercial auto accounts with a focus on commercial auto submitted to and written through the Mobility Unit. This includes managing and administering individual risk insurance policies, both admitted and non-admitted. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of underwriting guidelines and pricing models, as well as excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite, price, and monitor insurance business while achieving profitability targets in commercial auto
  • Maintain professional relationships with existing or prospective clients and production sources
  • Establish and maintain production/underwriting strategies for assigned production sources/accounts/lines of business
  • Possess a clear understanding of underwriting guidelines and pricing guidelines
  • Price business using existing pricing models/methodologies
  • Work with Product Development to develop manuscript policy/contract language
  • Provide policy issuance instructions for single risk business
  • Work with actuary and product development to develop rating plans and pricing tools when necessary

Requirements:
  • 7+ years of Insurance Carrier primary Commercial Auto underwriting experience
  • Strong client and broker focus, with the ability to identify clients' needs and transform them into business
  • Openness to employing advanced methods of data analytics in underwriting and business generation
  • Ability to think outside the box, assess risk, and exposures using non-traditional methods
  • Willingness to take over thought leadership and develop UW best practice
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and self-starter
