Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Novant Health. As a Diagnostic Echocardiography Specialist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic echocardiography and vascular ultrasound procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic echocardiography and vascular ultrasound procedures under the supervision of a cardiologist.
  • Document all procedural-related information accurately and thoroughly.
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support, addressing physical and emotional needs in a variety of circumstances.
  • Transport patients as needed within the Noninvasive Cardiac Services Department.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and information about their exams.
  • Perform and document quality assurance and quality control procedures as per protocol.
  • May perform moderate or waived point-of-care testing as per CLIA guidelines.
  • Participate in after-hours call duty and ensure the harmonious operation of the Cardiovascular section.
  • Demonstrate high standards of performance, including ownership, teamwork, communication, and compassion, to support patient satisfaction and service excellence.
Requirements
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification is essential.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification is desirable.
  • General Education Degree or Associate Degree in a related field is required.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required, with a one- to two-year Echocardiography or Vascular Ultrasound program or Medical Sonography program completion.
  • Obtain Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Vascular Sonographer, and/or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Certified Cardiac and/or Vascular Sonographer through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International within one year of hire.
  • BLS Certification is required.
  • One to two years of experience in a related field is preferred.
