Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Sterile Processing Tech to join our team at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. As a key member of our Surgical Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the instrumentation processing area, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the preparation and sterilization of surgical instruments.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the OR/CSR manager and Surgical Services Director to plan and implement staffing needs and oversee the competency of staff.
  • Direct and supervise the daily workload in the CSR, instrument processing, and decontamination of surgical instrumentation and equipment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new services and policies, as well as the coordination of maintaining competency in all staff.
  • Act independently in the absence of the CSR manager and director in carrying out overall unit operations and decision-making.
Requirements
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a sterile processing environment preferred.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
