Position Summary
The technician will coordinate with the Service Manager to organize their work and travel itinerary in the local area. Utilizing a company-provided vehicle, you will visit customer residences to conduct repair and maintenance services on whole home standby generators. Strong verbal communication and customer service skills are essential for interacting with clients. This role requires the ability to interpret and comprehend technical manuals, instructions, and schematics. Upon completion of repairs and maintenance, you will document the services performed using our electronic system. This position involves working around electrical systems and necessitates strict adherence to safety protocols.

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility required to accommodate customer needs, especially during adverse weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer locations using a company vehicle
  • Engage directly with customers regarding service details, arrival times, and resolved issues
  • Install generators on the gas side
  • Follow technical manuals, diagrams, and procedures accurately
  • Test, troubleshoot, and operate automatic transfer switches
  • Document services performed using an electronic system
  • Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and practices
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary
Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently with initiative
  • Proficient reading and comprehension skills for technical documents
  • Safe driving ability to transport company vehicles to various job sites
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in mechanical small engine repair
  • Familiarity with electrical wiring
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Physical capability to perform job duties, including bending, stooping, climbing, and walking on uneven surfaces
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Good eyesight for performing mechanical repairs safely
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Must be able to drive company vehicles to job sites
