Senior Director, Review Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Director, Review Manager to join our Acuity team at FTI Consulting. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing multiple client matters, developing and initiating new relationships with existing and prospective clients, and providing high-level substantive review workflow and review strategy advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage reviews independently, setting review workflow and strategy, running the review, and managing client relationships from beginning to end of project and beyond project scope.
- Create and monitor timelines for completion of various phases of review, and be on site as needed to supervise review teams in real-time and train and guide team leads and review teams.
- Work closely with operations and human resources teams to on-board and off-board reviewers, and assist sales teams and consultants in Acuity sales pursuits, generating own Acuity up-selling to existing clients.
- Be instrumental in the entire process from opportunity identification to proposal preparation, consultative sale, and closing of contract, developing initial budgets with the team for each case and ensuring adherence to that budget.
- Ensure inputs to billing systems accurately reflect case status, revenue projections, and authorized budgets, and work closely with clients, FTI service delivery teams, and project review teams to establish and maintain lines of communication and a mutual understanding of the scope of work and related costs.
- Coordinate, counsel, and manage project review teams to ensure the accuracy and throughput of document reviews, managing several projects simultaneously and setting up, supervising, and completing privilege logs with attorney teams.
- Monitor review speeds and progress on a regular basis, implementing and overseeing quality control protocols, interviewing and building project review teams, and providing detailed substantive review support for clients and project review teams on the use of review tools.
- Communicate with clients and/or outside counsel to scope substantive parameters of projects, select proper review tools and repositories, and estimate project timelines and budgets, and be able to suggest appropriate uses and review workflows, including integrating quality control workflows involving clients and senior project reviewers.
- Build and foster relationships with client contacts, defining the scope of work to include a list of deliverables and deadlines, and overseeing progress of work to ensure delivery of all work product within established time frames and standards of quality.
- Promote uniformity of office procedures and consistent high-quality final work product, and establish and maintain good working relationships with other offices and departments in the company.
- 7+ years of relevant post-graduate professional experience in legal/electronic discovery or primarily leading/managing projects in a document review environment.
- 7+ years of relevant post-graduate professional experience supporting document review software applications, preferably in document-intensive cases.
- Experience interfacing with end-clients – either corporations, outside counsel, or both.
- J.D. required.
- B.S. or B.A. college degree required.
- Must be barred, active, and in good standing.
- Ability to travel to clients and FTI offices as needed.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.
- Experience managing privacy breach document reviews, including managing review for personally identifiable information and confidential/sensitive information, managing complex extraction workflows, and the ability to manage a number of complex workflows concurrently on a tight timeline.
- IAPP data privacy professional certification – CIPP or CIPM.
- Experience managing antitrust/merger reviews, including multi-jurisdictional matters, and consulting on workflow organization for Technology Assisted Review (TAR)-leveraged protocols; privilege log and redactions best practices; reviews to support deposition/Investigational Hearing preparation; and analytical research tasks.
- Flexibility – ability to work under tight deadlines, ability to handle multiple tasks through prioritization and time management skills.
- Uses Technology Assisted Review to ferret out the most responsive documents more quickly.
- Speaks/reads a language other than English and has supervised a foreign language review.
- Broad knowledge and experience on participating in and managing wide variety of document reviews.
- Antitrust or Foreign Corrupt Practices Act experience is a plus.
- Has supervised a case using predictive coding.
- Experience with budget development and working with spreadsheets.
