Position: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - SCALA

Location: Seattle, WA

Contract Duration: 6 months

Compensation: DOE

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop automation scripts in SCALA for various microservices and pods.
  • Create comprehensive test plans and validate them prior to deployment.
  • Evaluate upcoming platform features and service integrations to determine necessary test coverage.
  • Design and document test cases to ensure the quality of new features.
  • Build automated tests to support new testing scenarios.
  • Guarantee the integration and reliable execution of automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Analyze daily test outcomes for failures and report defects accordingly.
  • Ensure that defects identified by your tests are prioritized and resolved effectively.
  • Develop additional test plans and code as required.
  • Collaborate with fellow SDETs and Quality Engineering team members to understand system specifications and suggest improvements for efficient testing.
  • Engage in initiatives to share testing knowledge and technology across the organization.
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively with the team to achieve project goals.
  • Generate and manage test data necessary for execution or database setup.
Candidate Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Competencies:
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across various teams and disciplines.
  • In-depth knowledge of software design and testing methodologies.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to deconstruct complex problems into manageable components.
  • Willingness and eagerness to learn new programming languages, frameworks, tools, and platforms swiftly.
Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years in a software quality assurance role.
  • Proven experience in developing robust test automation frameworks.
  • Experience in creating automated tests using Scala and C# (Scala preferred).
  • Background in agile methodologies within engineering teams.
  • Experience in testing RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with testing cloud-based services.
Highly Desired:
  • Experience in developing automated tests for microservices.
  • Experience in creating integrated tests across components and domains.
  • Proficiency in test automation development using Java or Scala.
