This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Automation Engineer II, where you will play a key role in the development and implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects, production, processing methods, and controls.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the development and implementation of WCM projects, ensuring processes are centered, capable, and in control.
- Reduce process variations and resolve special causes variation through the application of engineering fundamentals and advanced process control tools.
- Support plant and company strategic initiatives, including capital projects involving electrical process control systems.
- Provide technical support and maintenance of electrical, control, and automation equipment, including PLC, HMI, VFD, instrumentation, and networks.
- Implement required actions to avoid breakdowns and obsolescence.
- Assist the maintenance team with troubleshooting and repair of electrical, control, and automation equipment.
- Ensure SG and CT Gypsum's standards of safety, quality, and reliability are built into electrical, automation, and control systems.
- Collect, interpret, and extrapolate data from the production process to monitor current equipment performance against established objectives.
- Manage the implementation of electrical and automation improvement projects, coordinating contractor activities.
- Ensure full documentation of all projects and equipment, updating according to World Class Manufacturing (WCM) standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
- One to three (1-3) years of applied professional experience in electrical process control, instrumentation, automation, industrial protocols/networking.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Knowledge in integrated automation and information systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Flexible, open-minded team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing, and team environments.
- Ability to provide leadership and innovation at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- In-depth knowledge of electricity in low and medium voltage installations, HMIs, PLCs.
- Proficient in Electrical CAD software.
- Experience in development of industrial electrical and automation engineering projects.
