About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Automation Engineer II, where you will play a key role in the development and implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects, production, processing methods, and controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development and implementation of WCM projects, ensuring processes are centered, capable, and in control.
  • Reduce process variations and resolve special causes variation through the application of engineering fundamentals and advanced process control tools.
  • Support plant and company strategic initiatives, including capital projects involving electrical process control systems.
  • Provide technical support and maintenance of electrical, control, and automation equipment, including PLC, HMI, VFD, instrumentation, and networks.
  • Implement required actions to avoid breakdowns and obsolescence.
  • Assist the maintenance team with troubleshooting and repair of electrical, control, and automation equipment.
  • Ensure SG and CT Gypsum's standards of safety, quality, and reliability are built into electrical, automation, and control systems.
  • Collect, interpret, and extrapolate data from the production process to monitor current equipment performance against established objectives.
  • Manage the implementation of electrical and automation improvement projects, coordinating contractor activities.
  • Ensure full documentation of all projects and equipment, updating according to World Class Manufacturing (WCM) standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • One to three (1-3) years of applied professional experience in electrical process control, instrumentation, automation, industrial protocols/networking.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Knowledge in integrated automation and information systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Flexible, open-minded team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing, and team environments.
  • Ability to provide leadership and innovation at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • In-depth knowledge of electricity in low and medium voltage installations, HMIs, PLCs.
  • Proficient in Electrical CAD software.
  • Experience in development of industrial electrical and automation engineering projects.
