Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medicare Billing Specialist to join our team at American Healthcare Systems. As a key member of our Business Office staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our revenue cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide billing support to our healthcare team, including printing and submitting claims, and ensuring all necessary documentation is attached.
  • Document all notes in our patient account system for tracking of billed accounts.
  • Provide outside physicians with patient insurance information as requested.
  • Work on special billing-related projects as needed.
  • Pull Remittance Advice (RA) and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to prepare claims for secondary billing.
  • Pull supporting documents for special projects and annual regulatory audits as needed.

Document Imaging Responsibilities:

  • Open and separate department-related incoming mail.
  • Scan incoming correspondence to patient accounts as needed.
  • Give original correspondence to appropriate parties.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls and assist callers as needed.
  • Assist all business office team members with clerical functions as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within your skill sets and abilities.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent; additional college training preferred.
  • Previous clerical experience working in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers.
  • Ability to resolve problems with minimal assistance.
  • Proficient in computer skills necessary to perform job duties.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
