Job Summary

Red Carrot is seeking a skilled Videographer/Editor to support our federal government client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and produce high-quality audiovisual content for education, instruction, and public information purposes.
  • Plan, direct, film, produce, and edit audiovisual products, including scripts, storyboards, and final distribution of products.
  • Perform post-production processes, including assembling, adjusting, and enhancing audio and visual elements using computerized equipment.
  • Ensure accuracy and authenticity of materials presented and coordinate scripting, location, props, equipment, and graphics.
  • Participate in the tactical elements of broadcast productions or live events in the field and ensure technical aspects are executed without problems.
Technical Competence:
  • Capture high-quality video using studio and field cameras and utilize lighting support for television productions.
  • Capture audio using microphones, mixers, and other equalizing equipment for television productions.
  • Configure and operate camera equipment/systems and assist in recording and transmission of live and pre-recorded video productions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, advances in television, audiovisual production, and distribution systems.
Attention to Detail:
  • Estimate requirements for materials, facilities, funding, and services to support the organization's mission.
  • Ensure audiovisual equipment, supplies, and other property are in good working order.
Written Communication:
  • Assist in script preparation, create electronic graphics to enhance presentation, edit videotape for roll-ins, and review and edit finished programs.
  • Work with headquarters to manage the media library, identify and catalog b-roll media releases, and other media asset requirements.
  • Write and/or edit reports, briefings, information papers, and other material.
Decision Making:
  • Act as a field technical expert by handling audio and visual requirements for announcements, ceremonies, and press conferences.
  • Safeguard highly technical and valuable electronic equipment and operate technical equipment as required.
Oral Communication:
  • Act as the office liaison with local offices for all audio-visual needs.
  • Initiate and maintain personal contacts with personnel in other agencies and local vendors, contractors, and representatives.
Planning and Evaluating:
  • Coordinate sets, lighting, shoots, and edits video and photos.
  • Participate in pre-production planning to ensure selection and use of effective audiovisual approaches.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience as a full-time videographer/video editor in a corporate or government setting.
