Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform janitorial and custodial duties, including vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of flooring and stairs
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms
  • Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas
  • Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary
  • Dust and clean office desks and furniture that are not cluttered
  • Clean windowsills and windows
  • Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner
  • Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition
  • Properly label, dilute, and use all chemicals
  • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months or more recent related janitorial experience
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Ability to use general cleaning equipment such as a mop, broom, vacuum, duster, pail, buffer etc.
    • Ability to use general cleaning equipment as outlined in procedures to ensure proper usage and safety
    • Must be able to read and follow proper dilution rates for cleaning chemicals provided
    • Must be able to maintain assigned equipment in satisfactory and working condition
    • Ability to read and understand the "Safety Data Sheets" (SDS) for all chemicals and solutions used during working hours
    • Ability to follow policies and procedures in place to perform duties assigned
    • Ability to work as a team member and independently to complete daily tasks
    • Ability to assist and communicate with others as needed and establish effective working relationships
    • Ability to climb, bend, squat, lift and carry objects ranging from 10-60 pounds. Occasionally push objects up to 100 pounds; prolong walking up to 90%
  • Other Requirements:
    • Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening
    • May be required to work in aseptic areas and outside in inclement weather as needed; exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors, as well as cleaning chemicals
    • Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays
    • Possess valid driver's license and maintain good driving record
    • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s)
