Job Summary:
Summa Health is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dispatcher II - Protective Services to join our team. As a key member of our Protective Services department, you will be responsible for providing essential dispatch communications and maintaining effective and efficient communications between the dispatch center, officers, and other department personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to the public, officers, and other department personnel.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of Protective Services/Police related data, including LEADS/OHLEG, Lost & Found, and Key logs.
- Issue keys, parking stickers, and parking permits as needed.
- Process, enter, and retrieve employee data records in the Protective Services/Police computer system.
- Uphold the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of Summa Health.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year related customer service experience, preferably in a Police/Fire/EMS setting.
- Possess one or more 9-1-1 Dispatcher Certifications, including NECI, APCO, Powerphone Law Enforcement Dispatch Certification, or Cuyahoga Community College Emergency Dispatcher Certificate.
- Typing proficiency of thirty (30) words per minute.
- Ability to obtain and maintain LEADS/OHLEG operator certification.
- Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in critical situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with angry, emotional, and excited persons via telephone or at the Dispatch window.
Working Conditions:
- Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
- Extensive sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
- May sit, stand, stoop, and bend intermittently during the day.
- Frequent exposure to continual background noise, static, and additional ancillary noise from communications/office equipment.
Compensation:
$19.35/hr - $23.22/hr
The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers.
