Tractor Technician Trainee

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tractor Technician Trainee to join our team at Dayton Freight. As a Tractor Technician Trainee, you will be responsible for performing maintenance services and assisting senior technicians in the diagnosis and repair of tractor components.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance Services: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections and services, to ensure the optimal performance of our tractors.
- Assist Senior Technicians: Collaborate with senior technicians to diagnose and repair complex issues with tractor components.
- Develop Skills: Continuously develop your skills in the diagnosis and repair of tractor components, as well as learn to effectively and efficiently perform PM inspections and services.
- Service Calls: Perform service calls to ensure that our tractors are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to OSHA and company standards.
- Record Keeping: Accurately record all work and labor on a computer in the EMS system.
- Parts Management: Work with the Parts Department to ensure that all necessary materials, parts, and supplies are maintained at proper levels.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with EPA and DOT regulations, as well as company safety requirements.
- Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.
- Drug Screen: Able to pass a drug screen.
- Language: Fluent in English.
