Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Tractor Technician to join our team at Dayton Freight. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of tractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with diesel engines and tractor systems
  • Test and repair electrical systems, including wiring and circuitry
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Collaborate with other technicians to resolve complex issues and improve overall maintenance efficiency
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations
  • Record all work and labor on a computer in the EMS system
  • Work with the Parts Department to ensure all necessary materials and supplies are available
Requirements
  • Possess a valid Driver's License
  • Basic math skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Able to pass a drug screen
