Role Summary:

The Finishing Equipment Operator plays a crucial role in the production process, responsible for various tasks that culminate in the creation of finished products. This position involves setting up and operating finishing machinery while ensuring that output meets high-quality standards at minimal costs, in accordance with customer specifications and delivery timelines, while adhering to company policies and departmental guidelines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the Team Lead to receive daily production assignments.
  • Gather all necessary materials for assigned tasks.
  • Execute tasks to produce finished products, including setup, drilling, stitching, grommeting, shrink wrapping, taping, cutting, marrying, collating, inserting, and gluing, following established departmental protocols.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of work to deliver the highest quality product at the lowest feasible cost.
  • Confirm that the correct quantity of products is produced as per specifications.
  • Prepare skids, load products onto them, perform tagging/labeling tasks, and transport skids to the shipping or staging area.
  • Undertake special projects as directed by the Manager.
  • Accurately complete and maintain all necessary paperwork, records, and documentation.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and workplace regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the department.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a finishing role is essential.
  • Proficiency in operating all relevant machinery, including grommet machines, drills, stitchers, cutters, folders, and various hand tools.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for handling or feeling objects.
  • Frequently required to communicate verbally and listen attentively.
  • Occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and perform activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Strong communication skills with fellow employees.
