Position Overview

Our client is in search of a UNIX Administrator with strong technical, procedural, and automation skills to join a High-Performance Cloud Operations Team.

As an Infrastructure Administrator, the individual will oversee the daily management of Linux and Unix servers within a business application context.

This role encompasses general system administration duties, hardware and software support, system configuration, and monitoring.

The ideal candidate will possess robust Linux/Unix administration experience and excellent customer service skills.

Collaboration with business application administrators is crucial for troubleshooting applications and advising on best practices.

Clear communication and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential.

The individual will be the primary point of accountability for the operability, resilience, performance, and capacity of the production services they manage.

Responsibilities

System Administration

The candidate will manage the daily operations of all Linux-based servers.

This includes monitoring the ticketing system, troubleshooting issues, implementing hardware and software changes, scripting, applying patches, monitoring system performance, sizing systems, integrating systems, upgrading implementations, and conducting hardware diagnostics.

Application Support

The candidate will collaborate with application administrators to troubleshoot and optimize applications, as well as guide them in best practices for utilizing the underlying UNIX infrastructure.

Documentation

Maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems.

Education: Bachelor's Degree
