Job Summary

Excelsior College is seeking a highly qualified Subject Matter Expert to support the development of individual courses in computer science and Data Science. The successful candidate will have advanced knowledge and expertise in Data Science and computer science, with a strong background in curriculum development and implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and update existing courses or design new courses based on area need, incorporating program content and materials, and delivery methods.
  • Align course development with course and program learning outcomes, ensuring thematic areas are addressed.
  • Identify relevant learning resources and content, and create engaging learning activities, assignments, and valid assessments of learning.
  • Ensure the course curriculum aligns with Excelsior College's justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) principles.
  • Collaborate with the course development team throughout the design process, using the Excelsior University course shell as the framework for the course.
  • Write lectures, assignments, rubrics, and provide original content in an editable format.
Qualifications
  • An earned doctorate, or a master's degree and significant professional experience in the field, ideally in computer science or a related field, with a background in Data Science.
  • Demonstrated significant industry and/or experience in the field of Data Science.
  • Teaching experience at a two- or four-year degree-granting institution in computer science or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the development and implementation of curriculum and/or training in computer science.
