Job Description

Position Profile

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Plastics Fabrication Specialist is responsible for precise fabrication of custom parts and/or components using customer and/or engineering supplied drawings and other work instructions for specific parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed project requirements through manual fabrication.
  • Collaborate with machinists throughout the manufacturing process for each phase of the project.
  • Use hot air welding guns and plastic fabrication tools and procedures to connect plastic components.
  • Position clamps and/or fixtures onto components for fabrication.
  • Understand and execute the proper order of operations.
  • Pay close attention to details on drawings.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Measure components with height gauges and calipers.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Eye for detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to use calipers and protractor tools.
  • Willingness to use a hot air welding gun.
