Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Program Coordinator, the Family Service Assistant will work with families to connect them to community resources and navigate them through the Rochester City School District and other pertinent systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Latino community and be able to develop trusting relationships with families. They will also be able to interact positively and respectfully with staff, parents, students, and colleagues.

This is a full-time position that requires occasional standing, squatting, lifting of up to 20 lbs, and frequent sitting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct parent meetings, parent activities, and home visits
  • Provide interpretation and transportation services as needed
  • Maintain up-to-date case notes about services provided
  • Develop a trusting relationship with families and interact positively with staff, parents, students, and colleagues

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Human Services or Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Counseling
  • Family Service Credential
  • Experience working with urban youth and families
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Latino community
Physical Demands

$19 to $23 per hour
