Job Summary

This is a Direct Hire Public Notice for a Supervisory General Engineer position at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The selected candidate will serve as the Chief of the Electronics and Facilities Branch, responsible for the overall maintenance, installation, modification, and support of electronic equipment, structures, infrastructure, and facilities that support the weather, water, and climate programs of the Central Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage electronics and facilities programs focused on maintenance, repair, space planning, and construction.
  • Manage budgets or cost estimates for facility and equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement projects.
  • Manage, assign, and train the work of others.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or a combination of education and experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering.

The candidate must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service, including experience in directing and managing electronics and facilities programs, managing budgets, and managing the work of others.
