Specialized Construction Equipment Operator at Commonwealth of Virginia

Are you interested in embarking on a career in road maintenance and construction, an industry that offers substantial long-term opportunities and excellent benefits? The Specialty Crew at the Commonwealth of Virginia is the perfect place for you.

  • Execute a range of advanced maintenance equipment operations, routine maintenance, and physically demanding tasks
  • Utilize machinery such as backhoes, excavators, dump trucks, and others
  • Participate in activities including pipe laying, asphalt paving, and concrete placement
  • Address emergency roadway incidents, snow clearance, and other challenging conditions

Essential Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability in heavy physical labor
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power equipment
  • Possession of a CDL and DOT medical certification required within 11 months of employment
  • Capability to follow directives and operate maintenance machinery
  • Strong communication abilities

Additional Considerations

  • Experience in emergency response and routine maintenance
  • Background in maintenance, vehicle operation, or a related discipline
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License with appropriate endorsements
