Job Summary

As a CDL Driver at Bear Truss, you will be responsible for delivering materials to job sites, inspecting and maintaining trucks, and ensuring safe transportation of goods. This role requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and experience with wide load driving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a truck with a capacity of over three tons, delivering materials to job sites safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect and maintain trucks to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Participate in a positive work environment and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Prepare and maintain DOT required logs of time on duty and driving.
  • Organize and secure loads to prevent damage or loss during transport.
  • Assist forklift operators when loading and unloading materials.
  • Check orders for accuracy and ensure timely delivery to customers.
  • Deliver materials to customers' satisfaction and provide excellent customer service.
  • Complete daily equipment pre-inspection and follow guidelines established by the Department of Transportation.
  • Assist supervisor, other employees, and other work areas as assigned.
  • Assist in maintaining good housekeeping in the yard and warehouse.
  • Comply with all company policies and guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the truck and participate in and complete assigned trainings.
Requirements
  • Minimum education: High School Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED).
  • Minimum experience: 1 year CDL experience preferred, with basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers required.
  • Special skills: Ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees, and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
  • Maintains current operator's license and meets company driver qualification requirements.
  • Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
  • Physical demands include stooping, bending, twisting, and throwing, working in a variety of climates and environmental conditions, and ability to lift up to 100 lbs or more on a repetitive basis.
  • Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS, and other necessary business applications).
