Job Summary:

Vancrest of Van Wert is seeking a skilled Dietary Cook to join our team. As a Dietary Cook, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality dining experiences for our residents while ensuring their nutritional needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve menus prior to food preparation to ensure nutritional value and quality.
  • Inspect special diet trays to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as completing forms and reports, and submitting them to the Director of Food Services.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless dietary services.
  • Work with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician, and Supervisors to implement recommended changes and ensure compliance with established policies.
  • Assist in establishing food service production lines to ensure timely meal preparation.
  • Process diet changes and new diets received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
  • Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Ensure utensils and equipment are readily available for the next meal.
  • Assist in inventorying and storing incoming food, supplies, and other duties as requested.
