Dining is an important part of life and at Vancrest, we strive to provide the highest possible quality dining experience while ensuring the most nutritional diet possible for each resident.
Cook Responsibilities include:
Reviewing menus prior to preparation of food
Inspecting special diet trays to assure they are correct
Performing administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting to the Director of Food Services
Coordinating dietary service with other departments as necessary
Working with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician and other Supervisors as necessary and implementing recommended changes as required
Assuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
Assisting in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time
Processing diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service
Performing dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assuring that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal
Assisting in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, and other duties as requested
Cooks are supervised by the Dietary Manager
