Job Title: General Education Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Teacher to join our team at Youth Opportunity Investments, LLC.

Job Summary

The General Education Teacher will be responsible for developing students' success in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily living. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in education and a minimum of 3 years' prior relevant teaching experience working with children with developmental and intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans to improve student success in academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills.
  • Supervise students within the classroom and other assigned areas.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administrators to address instructional and classroom issues.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, foster parents, and administration.
  • Counsel students to improve performance, health status, problem-solving techniques, and personal issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in education required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' prior relevant teaching experience working with children with developmental and intellectual and/or physical disabilities preferred.
  • Special Education certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 20 pounds and provide necessary physical services to clients.
  • Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state and to the extent that knowledge is attainable under the law.
  • Must be able to transport clients.
