Diesel Technician

Job Title: Diesel Technician Mechanic

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician Mechanic to join our team at Ryder System. As a Diesel Technician Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, including diesel engines, transmissions, and brakes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal support
• Perform advanced skilled level repairs, including major engine repairs and diesel after-treatment system repairs
• Utilize diagnostic computers and software to troubleshoot and repair vehicles
• Interact with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions
• Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance and repair procedures
• Coach and mentor other technicians to improve their skills and knowledge
• Perform facility maintenance duties, including cleaning and organization of the shop

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or technical certification in diesel mechanics or a related field preferred
• Basic tools required
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of diesel engines and related systems
• Four years or more of relevant work experience preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
• All other certifications required by location
