Role Overview:

The Senior Cost Analyst is responsible for performing comprehensive inventory valuations and calculating inventory reserves. This role collaborates closely with Operations and Purchasing teams to establish standard costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and analyze resin-related rebates and credits, providing detailed monthly usage reports.
  • Conduct cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Execute inventory and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Propose process and policy improvements aimed at cost reduction and profit maximization.
  • Manage capitalized variance calculations and intercompany margin eliminations.
  • Oversee the annual physical inventory process and develop an effective cycle count strategy.
  • Summarize and report on physical inventory adjustments.
  • Review item master data for accuracy and ensure consistency in expected fields.
  • Perform pricing and margin analysis to support business objectives.
  • Monitor inventory transactions for discrepancies in unit measures, costing, and transaction types.
  • Assist in business acquisitions and system integrations related to standard costs, bills of materials, and routings.
  • Evaluate purchase price variance (PPV) and collaborate with departments to resolve inventory valuation issues.
  • Complete month-end close tasks, including accrual calculations, overhead burden rate calculations, journal entries, and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Develop gross margin reports to identify costing deficiencies and implement corrective processes for maintaining inventory valuation accuracy.
  • Support the implementation of internal controls by evaluating, recommending, and monitoring appropriate measures.

Essential Skills:

  • Expertise in Cost Accounting
  • Strong knowledge of Inventory Management
  • Familiarity with Bill of Materials

Position Type: Permanent

Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with a combination of on-site and remote work.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger, reporting, and costing.
  • In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, including bills of materials, standard costs, and inventory management.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector.
