Position Overview

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is seeking skilled electrical power systems engineers to enhance our Planning and Studies division. We invite candidates with expertise in electric utility planning studies or those currently involved in comprehensive renewable energy or industrial systems analysis to consider this opportunity.

We have openings within ECI's Planning teams across various locations, with options for hybrid or remote work available for qualified individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing a range of electrical analyses including load flow, short circuit, transient stability, harmonic analysis, insulation coordination, and dynamic system response evaluations.
  • Employing software tools such as PSS/e, PSLF, ASPEN Oneliner, PSS Cape, PSCAD, and EMTP-RV for analysis and modeling.
  • Supporting clients with renewable energy initiatives, including equipment selection, apparatus ratings, and the development of specifications.
  • Delivering services to utility and industrial customers, focusing on transmission-level load increases, generation interconnections, and breaker evaluations.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's or Doctorate preferred).
  • A minimum of one year of experience in areas such as Load Flow, Short Circuit, Transient Stability, HV/LV Ridethrough, TOV, TRV, Insulation Coordination, Harmonics, and Interconnection studies.

Possession of the ability to secure a Professional Engineer (PE) license is advantageous. Candidates must comply with ECI's auto insurance standards and may be subject to client-required background checks. Sponsorship for employment in the United States is generally not available.
