A Day in the Life

As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you will be part of a dynamic team that works together to provide reliable and customer-centric homeowners insurance solutions. Your role will involve executing functional tests using automated test tools or manual processes to ensure the quality of our applications and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute automated and manual test plans to verify adherence to our software development process and requirement/functional specifications.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase QA test coverage using automated testing tools.
  • Prepare test approach, plans, procedures, data, and test script automation.
  • Generate test reports, including results of testing and product stability, and provide recommendations for product release.
  • Refine QA processes and lead the team in following a standard methodology.
  • Mentor team members in developing quality deliverables.
  • Assist in completing product documentation and training material.
  • Assess and estimate test requirements based on use cases and other requirement documentation.
  • Execute tests, identify, communicate, and track issues to closure.
  • Prepare test data and test environment.
  • Support the implementation effort.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/MIS or related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years' experience in enterprise-level software testing using Selenium/Java automation with web-based applications.
  • Experience in implementing and using various Quality Assurance methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of automated test tools, especially with Selenium/Java, JUnit, and GitHub.
  • Property and Casualty Insurance testing experience preferred.
  • Experience in enterprise-level QA with web-based applications.
  • Extensive software test experience in developing and executing plans, cases, and scripts.
  • Testing experience in a large-scale relational database environment.
  • Ability to work from functional specifications or User Stories to develop test cases and test scripts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hands-on technical skills to perform QA and apply assurance best practices.
  • Ability to function independently with minimal oversight and provide guidance to other team members.
  • Ability to work well independently, with outsourced resources, and with a team to develop solutions and manage projects.
  • Driven and demonstrates ownership of daily work performance.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to interpret rules and regulations and how they apply operationally.

Your Environment

Normal business office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery. Occasional movement to access file cabinets, office machinery, or communicate with coworkers is required.

Minimum travel required.
