Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Customer Service Assistant to join our team in Dining Services. As a key member of our kitchen operations team, you will support dining hall kitchen operations with a variety of responsibilities including serving food, maintaining facility cleanliness, aiding in meal preparation, and collaborating closely with cooks and kitchen staff. Knowledge of safe food handling practices in a team setting is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Assist cooks and other kitchen personnel in tasks such as cleaning and paring vegetables, washing dishes, serving from a serving line, cleaning tables, and sweeping floors.
  • Ensure neatness and cleanliness in preparing, handling, and serving food, while also providing exceptional customer service to patrons in a pleasant and courteous manner.
  • Care and use of food service equipment including meat slicer, mixing machine, and steam cookers.
  • Perform related work as assigned by management.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to move loads up to 50 lbs., perform push/pull activity with products weighing up to 30 lbs., and perform duties with repetitive motion of wrists, arm, and shoulder.
  • Possess hand and finger coordination, reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, and kneel.
  • Ability to work in noisy, hot/cold environments with chemicals, cleaning equipment, dust, fumes, and odors.
  • Ability to work long hours standing, and under conditions of high temperature.

The estimated salary for this position is $13.80 per hour. The position offers a flexible schedule of up to 24 hours a week, and some flexibility and weekend availability are required.
