About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Natera. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for analyzing clinical specimens, maintaining equipment, and overseeing daily laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical laboratory procedures, excellent technical and communication skills, and the ability to guide and train team members.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze clinical specimens and perform tests in an efficient manner with minimal errors
  2. Maintain updated knowledge of laboratory methods and procedures
  3. Provide general oversight of personnel and daily operations in the laboratory
  4. Meet performance metrics and follow good laboratory practices
  5. Train new staff members and provide guidance on specialized instruments/protocols
  6. Escalate equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot common errors
  7. Document and escalate protocol deviations and assist with nonconformance reports
  8. Participate in updating standard operating procedures and database
  9. Conduct continuous improvement projects and ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements
  10. Maintain equipment and instruments in good operating condition and manage inventory
  11. Communicate with team and other departments on various platforms
  12. Provide feedback on daily schedule and tasks and offer suggestions for improvement
  13. Assist teammates in completing daily tasks and facilitate workflow as needed
  14. Act professionally and adhere to departmental expectations

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field
  • Current MT/MLS/CLS/MB certification preferable from ASCP, AMT, or AAB
