Key Responsibilities:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the operations department. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and training Operation Supervisors to ensure successful event coordination activities.

  • Planning, organizing, and assigning work assignments for Operation Supervisors, Teamsters, Housekeepers, and other event personnel.

  • Managing Operation Supervisors to promote efficient completion of tasks while fostering development and growth within the position.

  • Determining the most effective labor utilization methods to complete assigned tasks.

  • Analyzing function schedules and diagrams to determine necessary labor for task completion.

  • Ensuring timely completion of labor calls.

  • Leading labor allocation efforts for all events and accurately recording allocations.

  • Authorizing weekly payroll functions, including timesheet approvals and PTO requests, in accordance with ASM Global standard operating procedures.

  • Scheduling and overseeing operations staff, including labor and trades, connected with event setup, execution, and breakdown.

  • Assisting with maintaining facility cleanliness and order.

  • Collaborating with the Senior Operations Manager to execute events on time and within budget.

  • Maintaining positive relationships with union and non-union staff, clients, and service suppliers.

  • Participating in Safety Committee meetings to maintain OSHA Personal Protection Equipment and ensure proper employee training.

  • Enforcing safety policies and procedures.

  • Liasing with the Facility Manager to maintain equipment in proper working condition using ALTUM software.
