Assistant Professor l, Graduate Nurse Practitioner Position Summary:

The Graduate Nurse Practitioner Program at Nightingale College seeks a highly qualified Assistant Professor l, Graduate Nurse Practitioner to facilitate distance education instruction incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies, and other industry trends reflecting advancements in the discipline.

The incumbent will be accountable for the delivery of the nursing curriculum in accordance with the mission, vision, values, and purposes of the Program.

The Assistant Professor l, Nurse Practitioner will engage with learners in all of the nursing education process including evaluating the potential for successful achievement in the program and is accountable for Nursing Education Services successful attainment of key performance indicators, program and functional outcomes, and the success of the College's mission.

Responsibilities include administering examinations, grading, and conducting competency evaluations, maintaining accurate attendance and performance records of learners, and submitting required reports according to published deadlines.

The ideal candidate will maintain proficiency in online delivery of nursing education and competence in subjects being taught, collaborate in the development and revision of curriculum, and manage the selection of lectures and/or coordination of guest faculty.

The Assistant Professor l, Graduate Nurse Practitioner will also maintain continuing education requirements outlined by the College and credentialing bodies, demonstrate doctoral professional standards through ongoing and continuous attendance at professional meetings, active engagement in state and/or national professional associations, and active participation on program and College committees.

The successful candidate will participate in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Earned Doctoral degree with a major in nursing from an accredited institution is preferred.

Active, unencumbered RN and NP license from state of residence and ability to obtain RN and NP licensure in any jurisdiction required by the College, including a valid multi-state license.

MSN Ed, EDd, or similar education degree is preferred.

The ideal candidate will maintain immunizations, NP licensure, and certification records as required by accreditation, facility, or state board of nursing.

Demonstrated current knowledge of NP practice in role specialization, clinical content knowledge, and related professional issues as demonstrated by current clinical practice, use of evidence-based practice in instruction, and participation in continuous professional development.

Experience in teaching Advanced Practice Nurses is preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), and other technology platforms related to the delivery of online nursing education is required.

The successful candidate will have the ability, willingness, and availability to perform needed responsibilities throughout the three academic semesters each calendar year and travel as needed to locations within the US for two (2) weeks or ten (10) times per semester.
