Position Overview

The Photography program at Allan Hancock College is actively seeking qualified applicants to establish a pool of adjunct instructors for potential openings. These positions will be filled based on the program's requirements during the academic semesters.

Responsibilities may encompass teaching various courses within the Photography curriculum, including but not limited to: History of Photography, Basic Photography, Materials and Processes, Color Photography, Commercial Photography, Portrait Photography, and Digital Photography. Ideal candidates will demonstrate an understanding of and the ability to effectively engage with a diverse student body, encompassing various academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Deliver instruction in alignment with the established curriculum and course outlines.
  • Uphold professional conduct and ethical standards.
  • Stay updated with current knowledge in the relevant subject areas.
  • Fulfill the professional obligations of a part-time faculty member.
  • Conduct all assigned classes as scheduled.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records.
  • Teaching assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online, and/or off-campus courses.
Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of relevant experience.
  2. Associate's degree and six (6) years of industry experience.
  3. A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above. Candidates applying based on equivalency must submit an Application for Equivalency along with all other required documents.
Previous teaching experience is preferred.

Compensation Rates:
Lecture Rate: $57.72 to $77.18 per hour based on education and experience.
Lab Rate: $50.28 to $67.20 per hour based on education and experience.
Activity Rate: $37.13 to $50.62 per hour based on education and experience.
