About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Information Systems Specialist to join our team at Santa Clara Pueblo Administrative. As a key member of our Realty Office, you will play a critical role in creating and maintaining accurate geospatial data using state-of-the-art GIS software.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position that requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a strong background in geographic information systems (GIS), natural resource management, or environmental science. The ideal candidate will have experience working with ESRI ArcGIS and/or other similar software platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update the Realty Department's GIS data using the ESRI suite of software.
  • Use GPS units to collect vector data for various real estate services, infrastructure, or other features within and surrounding Santa Clara Pueblo boundaries.
  • Collect raw data and process it using Pathfinder Office for entry into the GIS computer system.
  • Maintain computer database records for data files and Geographic Information System layer information.

In addition to these primary responsibilities, the successful candidate will also provide map creation, small-scale land surveys, and other related duties assigned by the department.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, with a preference for enrollment in a college or university pursuing a degree in Geographic Information Systems, Natural Resource Management, or Environmental Science.
  • Some familiarity or working knowledge of Global Positioning Systems (GPS), ArcGIS/ArcInfo, and cartography design.

A certification in GIS/GPS can also be considered in lieu of education and experience. We encourage applicants with relevant work experience and skills to apply.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work both in a standard office setting and outdoors under various weather conditions. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Travel may be required, and occasional night and weekend shifts may be necessary.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is between $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
