The Cloud Infrastructure Systems Specialist is responsible for ensuring the seamless functionality of the IT framework by diagnosing and addressing technical challenges to implement enhancements that improve system performance and efficiency. This role involves constructing and sustaining cloud-based solutions that are efficient, secure, and scalable under the direction of a Cloud Architect. The individual will work in close collaboration with other IT professionals, including network engineers, software developers, and database administrators, to guarantee that computer systems operate efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance, maintain, and manage the existing physical and virtual server infrastructure systems.
- Deploy a robust, secure, and scalable cloud-based infrastructure.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure solutions align with the organization's needs and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud-based infrastructure and applications.
- Work with development teams and stakeholders to address issues promptly and effectively.
- Deploy servers, storage, and network resources utilizing tools such as Microsoft Azure Pipelines and Azure DevOps.
- Create and maintain documentation for computer systems, including system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Engage with vendors to ensure successful installation and maintenance of projects.
- Stay informed about current industry trends and new technologies to recommend and implement the latest, most effective solutions for the organization.
- Monitor and assess the performance of computer systems, making adjustments for optimal functionality.
- Implement and manage security protocols for computer systems, including access control, data protection, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance and patching during business hours.
- Participate in the regular on-call rotation of the Information Technology Division.
- Attend educational events to enhance professional knowledge and benefit the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (a comparable combination of education, work experience, and training may be accepted).
- 5+ years of experience with datacenter (Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure) and platform environments, with knowledge of clustering, load balancing, and high availability configuration.
- 5+ years of experience in system engineering or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as MCSE, the latest or previous generation of Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate are required.
- AZ104 or AZ400 Microsoft Azure Administrator certifications are preferred.
- Experience with core Azure services, Azure workloads, security, and governance is preferred.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Experience with Azure CLI, Azure portal, and Azure Resource Manager templates.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python and scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash.
- Utilize strong programming skills and expertise in cloud-based systems to optimize the organization's digital operations, which may involve redirecting networks, recommending cost-effective alternatives, or enhancing connection speed.
- Understanding of DevOps concepts and best practices to collaborate with developers in creating IT infrastructure.
- Knowledge of best practices for securing computer systems and cloud-based solutions.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of networking concepts, including routing, switching, and security.
- Able to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in operating systems and cloud resources, with knowledge of multi-factor authentication, privileged identity, encryption, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V and networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Knowledge in VMware, Active Directory, Citrix Xen App, Infoblox (DNS), and Microsoft Exchange/O365 is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and organized with strong task management skills.
- Ability to plan, deploy, and manage IT projects, resolving complex problems through critical thinking.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with team members, staff, vendors, and regulators.
