We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Track Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Retama Park. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the racetrack and surrounding grounds are well-maintained and meet the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a variety of vehicles, machinery, and equipment to include tractors, pick-up trucks, and power and manual maintenance tools.
- Adhere to all departmental and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.
- Assume responsibility for maintenance of the racetrack and racing grounds.
- Maintain the appearance of the track to meet required standards; maintain plants, trees, and shrubs and apply chemicals as needed, under supervision.
- Perform a variety of grounds maintenance duties to include weed treatment, painting, trash collection, and operating of irrigation systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance as needed; care for and maintain all light and heavy equipment.
- Notify higher level management of any suspicious or unusual activity in a timely manner.
- Attend and participate in professional group meetings; maintain awareness of new trends and innovations in the field of track and ground maintenance.
- Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all company matters.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and Facilities Maintenance experience in hospitality or related field, or groundskeeping/landscaping experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use all equipment associated with the position in a proper and safe manner.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and basic finishing a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive approach to dealing with issues.
