Job Summary

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Definitive Observation Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and established policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, prioritizing patient needs and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Utilize excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical knowledge and best practices, applying this expertise to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the continuous enhancement of our healthcare services.
Requirements
  • Current California R.N. licensure.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a Definitive Observation/Step Down/Progressive Care setting.
  • Excellent observation and sound nursing judgment, with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
