Job Overview

Theragenics is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Seed Manufacturing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, efficiency, and safety of our seed manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean, assemble, and inspect cold components with precision and accuracy.
  • Assemble radioactive components in a controlled environment, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Transfer, weld, and inspect radioactive seeds, maintaining the highest standards of quality control.
  • Perform 100% inspection of finished seeds using magnifying equipment or a microscope, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Conduct assay operations on radioactive seeds, following established procedures and protocols.
  • Load seeds into magazines, custom-loaded needles, or strands, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
  • Perform counting and shipping operations, maintaining accurate records and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Execute sterilization procedures using steam and/or gamma radiation, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Perform miscellaneous procedures, including air filter maintenance, surveys, and wastewater management.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all paperwork, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to identify and address any production equipment or material issues.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of manufacturing/assembly experience, with a preference for small part assembly.
Skills and Qualifications
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Initiative to complete assignments and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Responsible care and operation of equipment to prevent damage or excessive wear.
  • Ability to work overtime as workload dictates.
  • High level of confidentiality in maintaining company information.
Work Environment

The Seed Manufacturing Specialist will work in a warehouse environment and a radionuclide production environment with radioactive materials. The job requires minimal heavy lifting of up to 20 pounds, with 50% of functions performed sitting and 50% performed standing. Strong concentration and frequent mental and visual attention are required.
