Senior Manager, Lease Accounting Professional

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our Global Assets team in Providence, RI, as a Senior Manager, Lease Accounting. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in developing processes and guidelines related to Lottery Lease Accounting, working closely with the Director of Global Assets. The successful candidate will oversee the Lease Accounting team, demonstrating accountability and integrity, and will be responsible for reviewing and posting lease entries, account reconciliations, and reporting, including IFRS reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with experience in Lease Accounting, and will be able to extract appropriate accounting elements from business initiatives. They will also have advanced analytical and technical US GAAP and IFRS knowledge, as well as experience with SAP or similar ERP accounting software. The successful candidate will be a team player, with strong verbal and written communication skills, and will be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with stringent deadlines. We offer a competitive salary range of $90,746 - $200,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly reviewing and posting of lease entries
  • Account reconciliations and reporting, including IFRS reconciliations
  • IFRS and US GAAP Cash Flow reporting
  • Annual Lease disclosure compilation and Lease Technical Accounting judgements
  • Development of best practice methodologies and providing training to ensure successful Lease project implementation within the Lottery accounting organization
  • Enhancement of knowledge base on Lease Accounting using a 3rd party solution and working with various business partners, including Real Estate and Technical Accounting organizations
  • Implementation of new business initiatives into the organization in the following areas: Lease Accounting, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Inter-company and other accounting areas as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, plus 8+ years accounting or related experience
  • Advanced analytical and technical US GAAP and IFRS knowledge related to a wide variety of topics and ability to extract appropriate accounting elements from business initiatives
  • SAP or similar ERP accounting software experience
  • Advanced PC skills with emphasis on spreadsheet application (Microsoft Excel - databases, pivot tables, macros, etc.), Business Objects, Business Warehouse, Database applications
  • Prior team lead experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, a team player, self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, high-pressure environment with stringent deadlines
  • Ability to work cross-departmentally and have a strong understanding of process controls to ensure proper financial postings
  • CPA, MBA, or special certification related to the position preferred
