About the Role

Merrick & Company is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of mechanical systems for various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the design and development of mechanical systems, including planning, calculations, and equipment selection.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute conceptual and detailed mechanical design of complex manufacturing processes and facilities.
  • Complete detailed engineering calculations to size equipment and pipe systems, specifications, technical reports, and vendor coordination.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of applicable codes and standards for the design and construction of industrial processes, systems, and facilities.
  • Develop and maintain skills in required software packages, including AutoCAD, REVIT, and Plant 3D.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Institution required.
  • A minimum of four (4) years related experience.
  • Experience in aspects of mechanical project design, including planning, calculations, equipment selection, schematic design, production of construction documents, and construction administration.
  • Experience in Industrial manufacturing design and construction knowledge.
  • Proficient in report writing, including basis of design reports, specifications, field reports, etc.
  • Candidate must be able to travel.
  • Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick's insurance carrier.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in areas such as Building HVAC, industrial ventilation, utilities systems and piping, and plumbing.
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and other calculation software (CAESAR II, AFT Fathom, Trane Trace, etc.).
