- Manage mechanical design, budget, and schedule
- Maintain professional relationships with vendors, customers, and other Merrick personnel
- Work with other engineering and technical personnel to ensure overall project goals are met
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for:
- Applying knowledge in Food & Personal Care, Bioprocessing, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power, Manufacturing, and Industrial facilities/systems
- Ensuring understanding and compliance with owner's requirements and corporate standards related to mechanical design
- Confirming and reviewing applicable codes and standards, such as IBC, ASME, API, PIP, and NFPA
- Establishing and documenting the mechanical systems basis of design
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will also be responsible for:
- Developing scopes of work based on RFPs and pre-bid meetings with clients
- Working with owners and construction management teams to validate construction cost and provide value-engineering options
- Managing project mechanical engineering and design teams
- Overseeing all aspects of the mechanical scope related to equipment and piping
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Twelve (12)+ years of industry experience
- Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain PE within the first year of employment
- Experience with Design/Build and EPC projects
- Experience leading teams of engineers on design projects
- Pipe stress analysis experience utilizing software such as CAESAR II
- Significant experience designing and installing retrofits and upgrades at manufacturing and industrial facilities
- HVAC and plumbing design for industrial facilities
- Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and B31.1, ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel codes, PIP, and API codes
- Experience in managing personnel and project engineering
