Job Summary

Antech Diagnostics is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hematology Lead to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for supervising day-to-day activities, performing laboratory analyses, and assisting in the development of operating policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in supervising department staff, monitoring activities, and evaluating performance.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to staff and oversee staff training and development.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of department diagnostic equipment and other technical resources.
  • Perform routine testing, including reading Avian CBC slides, manual CBC slides, and manual platelet slides.
  • Handle rechecks and verifications within the department.
  • Conduct random audits and evaluations of slides.
  • Resolve pending lists and report technical QA/QC problems to the Supervisor.
  • Ensure that monthly Tech and Aide audits are performed and documented.
  • Maintain organization of storage refrigerators and equipment, including hoods and centrifuges.
  • Meet daily TAT production requirements and perform duties of the Supervisor in their absence.
  • Read, understand, and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including safety and quality procedures.
  • Participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required, preferably in a Science-related field.
  • Proven leadership, motivational, and mediating abilities.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and direct work activities.
  • Proficiency in all testing and services for the purposes of training personnel.
  • Extensive laboratory skills and experience.
  • Reasoning and analytical skills to resolve issues.
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) as appropriate.
  • Personal computer skills, including strong typing ability and proficient use of Microsoft Office.
